My Values & Vision

What is my vision?

I believe there is great potential for healing by having a deep, honest, and meaningful dialog with others who have had similar experiences.  My vision for this work is to create a community of womxn who want to discuss their personal experiences. I envision this being done in small groups where womxn can lead conversations about their own personal experience of being a survivor in this world. I envision that the role of the survivors in the space is one where they have begun their healing journey and they are in a place where they want to start moving forward. I say moving forward because moving on is impossible.

What are my values?

Respect & Integrity – By respect, I mean truly respect every person. I treat everyone with respect and listen to their stories but never pry.  I am an affirming person, and I am ready to serve people who need help.

Intersectionality – The feminist movement has been historically known to be a “white women’s” issue. In my work, I will honor intersectionality, race, gender, and sexual orientation. The feminist movement is not only about women, it is about any other marginalized identity that is different from a heterosexual white male, reaching equity.

Advocacy- I will always acknowledge someone’s dignity, value, and worth as a person. I will always speak up for wrong instances and when people are being ill-treated. I continue to advocate for marginalized communities by organizing, attending campaigns, and advocate for changes in government.

Justice- I believe that everyone deserves to feel that they have have been served justice. I respect that justice is different for everyone and I believe that every individual deserves to have their own interpretation of justice achieved (so long as no one is harmed in the process).

Community – Community is empowering. Having a community that supports you is ultimately vital to survival. There is tremendous power when a group of people come together to discuss their core values while simultaneously respecting one another.  Communities who value transparency, fairness, and honesty foster authentic interactions.
